One thing I can do over Spring Break to prepare for the NYS ELA test is to practice the types of figurative language (simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, alliteration, onomatopoeia, etc.), so that if the test has a question about figurative language, I can answer the question very accurately. Also, I can practice writing short response questions in order to get a 4 on the essay part of the test.

I can study the entire brake for the ELA state test. I can look at poems and stories and make roadmaps. I could study with my family members. And lastly I could quiz myself with questions. These are all helpful ways to study for the ELA state test.
