Connecting to Nightjohn

As our ELA classes finish Nightjohn, it would be interesting to note what each student learned from reading this novel.  Although we will be exploring this in class, let's discuss it here on the blog as well.

To earn five bonus points on your lowest grade(s), please write a complete sentence or two explaining what lesson you learned from reading Nightjohn.  Be sure to write your name with your response.

All responses must be completed by midnight on Friday, May 31st, 2013.

Dressing for the Warm Weather

This week promises to be a beautiful one with sun and warmth.  Unfortunately, Levy tends to be a warm building and seventh graders are housed on the top floor.  Because of this, students are reminded to keep the weather in mind while dressing for school.  As always, students must comply with SCSD dress code.

New Students of the Week

Because of testing, Mrs. Earl did not select students of the week for may 6th through the 10th.  New students of the week have been selected for the week of May 13th through the 17th.  They are:

Period One - Rome N.
Period Two - Danny E.
Period Four - Rahmo S.A.
Period Five - Malik D.

Congratulations!

Scholastic Reading Inventory Results

Seventh graders took the SRI (Scholastic Reading Inventory) for the last time this year and the results were AMAZING!  Most students showed growth and an increase in their reading level since the test was administered in September and again mid-year.  Many students took the test very seriously and their effort showed.  Mrs. Earl is very proud of this great accomplishment!
